White Stripes in Whitehorse

Whitehorse will never be the same
Free 5 pm concert for those who didn't get tickets

Got home from work Monday about 5 pm. Thankfully I left work early! My stepson was at the door, yelling "WHITESTRIPES FREE CONCERT DOWNTOWN NOW!!!". Dropped the bike, grabbed the camera, got in the car. Now, someone ever tells you a Toyoto Echo doesn't make a good Rally car, don't believe them. We got to the park in time. Jack and Meg showed up about 5:30. They did about 6 accostic songs, including "Hotel Yoba", Effect and Cause" and "We're going to be friends". After the set, we met up with our friends who were coming to the concert with us. Back to our house for Margaritas, well technically, Mezcalritas.
Went over to the Arts Centre about 7:30. Got my camera, a Canon G7, by the door no problem. Bought the t-shirts and posters then took out seats, row 10. There are only 11 rows in the theatre, apparently the smallest venue and probably the best accostics on the tour. The White Stripes came out about 8:30. Everyone stood up and many ran to the front. Time to upgrade our seats, we ended up second row center. Needed to teach the kids when to take action at a rock concert. They did well. Jack ripped into "Black Math", then "Dead Leaves and Dirty Ground" with out a pause. The security goon kept telling me to put my camera away, so we worked out a system of putting my son between him and me. The next two hours were a bit of a blur, they paused only to change guitars. At one point my son leaned over to shout, "Hey, it's the White Stripes". Ya, no kidding.
